Since the early 1960’s energy efficient films have been used to
reduce the overall building energy costs. Today, energy saving films
have become increasingly popular and are being used worldwide to
decrease the building energy costs. This is done by dropping the
excessive solar heat gain by the windows. Consumers are very quick in
learning that these films are a cost effective option to other window film company that offers no benefits.
A layer of glue is applied onto the film side that surfaces the glass
and is secured by a removable release liner till just beforehand the
film is applied to the glazing system of the window. Furthermore, UV
absorbers are also added to the polyester window film layers, the
adhesive layer, or both to guard against the UV degradation.
Through all climate zones, energy saving windows offers a better
return on investment than the normal ones due to the combination of
solar performance and considerably lowers material and installation
costs. According to some studies, window film provides 6.6 times better
energy cost savings as compared to total window replacement with
energy efficient window films. A total window standby with
solar-control low-E windows and solar reflective films does provide good energy savings.
Moreover, it should not be forgotten that the return of investment
that these energy efficient windows offer is much better compared to
the regular ones.
Keeping these issues in mind, the application of energy saving window
films should be strongly reflected for window replacements if the
current windows are functionally appropriate and are in good condition;
not only for the health benefits that it provides, but also for its
eco-friendly properties. It lets all of us stay a step closer to the
nature.
