Why are reflective films important?

Since the early 1960’s energy efficient films have been used to reduce the overall building energy costs. Today, energy saving films have become increasingly popular and are being used worldwide to decrease the building energy costs. This is done by dropping the excessive solar heat gain by the windows. A layer of glue is applied onto the film side that surfaces the glass and is secured by a removable release liner till just beforehand the film is applied to the glazing system of the window.
